My China Trip- Day 5 (Wuxi-Hangzhou)

Morning: Wuxi

After a good night rest, we woke up feeling all recharged and hungry. So, we went downstairs to have a hearty breakfast given the sumptuous spread of food that was presented right before our eyes.

Morning at Wuxi was quite boring. We went to a pearl factory and head off to lunch. Very simple and we had to leave Wuxi early cos the journey to Hangzhou 杭州takes around 3 hrs.

The Wuxi tourguide shared with us that the traffic in Wuxi is quite alright. Unlike other provinces where jams will start building up during the peak hour (8plus), you barely see any cars on the streets in Wuxi. The reason? Early bird gets the worms...

Some pics taken outside the hotel:

The man was very kaypoh!

Afternoon to Night: Hangzhou 杭州

By the way, you must be thinking why I kept mentioning different tourguides. Well, for my tour group, there will be 2 tourguides that will be accompanying us from Day 1 all the way to Day 8. One of them is the Singaporean tourguide who helped us with the logistics matters (checking-in hotels and flights) and the other one is a China tourguide who will help in tour arrangement and of cos, keep us entertain during the journeys.

Whenever we enter a province, another local tourguide will board the bus and introduce the place thoroughly. So! The China tourguide is from Hangzhou. From day 1, she had been comparing her hometown to the whichever provinces that we visit, complimenting her hometown. For eg, when we mentioned how pretty Shanghai is, she will reply, "You have not come to Hangzhou yet! Hangzhou is so scenic and much more pretty."

However from my perspective, I was quite disappointed with the Hangzhou that I saw when the bus entered the province. You see buildings, brownish and grey. Lots of cars and motocycles and bicycles. Oh and you see ducks being sun-dried on the poles of HDB flats together with clothes!
The place looks like the rural parts of China to me BUT!!! I changed my mind when we were brought to this particular attraction: West Lake.

This place is simply like a fairyland. I mean like those scenes you see in Taiwanese idol drama where the leading couple will date and fall in love. No wonder we saw many couples taking wedding pictures there.

On our way to West Lake, you see plenty of trees on both sides of the road.
Couples taking wedding photos at such cold weather! Poor thing!

Pigeons flying in a flock as they were frightened by people like me who hates birds!

Enjoying the steaming hot 茶叶蛋

This lake has so many stories to share. All the historical figures lah! Basically, everything you see has a story behind it. I did not pay much attention here cos I am intrigued by the beauty of the West Lake at dusk. A boat ride is enough for you to experience the beauty of West Lake.

As we drove out of West Lake, we saw alot of shops. Guess what are they selling? They are wedding boutiques and cafes! Smart right these people?! Book a wedding package and then cross over and take pics! When you are tired, rest at the cafe.

Then, we went for dinner at the city centre of Hangzhou. We had and lots of yummy food before they brought us to watch a night performance.

There were many artistic performance and the best of all, acrobatic acts! Simply breathtaking and jaw-dropping!
