Resort World Sentosa/ Festive Hotel

Earlier on, I mentioned that Hotel Michael is the best hotel among all at RWS. So why did I say so? That's because I get to go to try out Festive Hotel not long ago where I invited my family along.

Festive Hotel is a family-themed hotel so it is not surprising to find kids running along the corridor, playing and shouting at the lobby and splashing at the pool. This is definitely not your usual rest and relax hotel. It feels more like a chalet and the cleanliness of the room has ought to improve.

First, we were greeted by the orchid wallpaper in the lift. A bit cheena but nonetheless, they are smart in using orchids for the theme as the wallpapers really beautify the room. If not, I'd just think of it as a chalet with its dark furniture.

A little disappointed when we stepped into the room. The colour was so dull and old-looking. But then, we saw our little balcony overlooking the pool. I think the facilities were the one that made our trip a worthy one. They have a huge pool when compared to Hotel Michael. Initially, I thought there wouldn't be any pool and so I did not bring any swimming costumes along. Oh, and the gym was huge too! With an open space for your own aerobic class and edgy gym equipments, it just made me feel like a gym bug when I stepped into it. Too bad, it just made me feel like one and not be one! lol

Check out the toilet. Not as nice as Hotel Michael right? I like toilets with small tiles or mosaic tiles. Maybe next time my future house's toilets will be like this.

Then, mum, sis and bro came and joined us. Started playing cards and forgotten to take pictures.

Oh and just when I was doing my work on my laptop (sad but true), I heard some banging noise outside and I thought someone was knocking the door. Then I saw lights coming from my balcony and guess what? There was fireworks coming from Sentosa!

Resort World Sentosa/ Hotel Michael

This is a backdated post about my trip to Resort World Sentosa two months ago where I stayed overnight at the new Hotel Michael.

Well, thanks to Des's parents who managed to 'redeem' hotel stays, I got to experience the resort feel in our own Sentosa.

We started the day by heading to Vivo for lunch and quick shopping for snacks as the room can only be checked in at 3pm.

It was a sunny day, the right day to take pictures!

First we get greeted by the beautiful castle of Princess Fiona from Shrek.

Well, under RWS, there are a total of 6 hotels. Of which, Hotel Michael is the most expensive as it is a boutique/ artistic hotel which features the works of this artist called Michael Graves. Definitely the cleanest and higher standard hotel among all. You will know why in the subsequent post.

As we walked to our hotel, we passed by many high-end boutiques like Rolex, Coach, Raoul, Swarovski etc.

The hotel lobby is pretty compact I must say. A narrow path displaying all the art pieces of Michael Graves. At first glance, I thought the hotel is going to be shabby or kind of like a chalet. But I guess it's probably due to the limited space and so the lobby couldn't show the grandness of the rooms.

Again, the rooms are all situated down this stretch of pathway. If you happen to stay at the last room, good luck to you! You have to walk back and fro to the lifts as that's the only way to get around.

The bathroom! Marble everywhere! I love the bathroom! So clean and cool!

The other side of the bathroom where you find the toilet bowl, cupboards for you to keep your clothes and a weighing machine.

I think the designers must have spent most of the time in sticking the tiles onto the walls!

Customised TV screen!

The bed is comfy to snack and watch TV. The only disappointment? Entertainment. The hotel's swimming pool is small (maybe a children's pool) when compared to Festive Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel. This could be due to it being a boutique hotel so few people swim? If you want better facilities, head to the other two hotels. The pools are huge! Oh and the hotels subscribe to Mio TV and there isn't much shows at all.

I can stay in this room for hours! So Mediterranean.

Initially thought it was just a table until I lifted it up to reveal a make-up desk.

Off we went exploring for dinner.

It just so happened that the weekend was Mid-autumn festival and there was performance (getai style).

This Chinese restaurant was opened by the same boss behind Ding Tai Fung, Breadtalk and Toast Box. We didn't get to try it that day but the second time we went, we did.

The opening of a new candy shop called Candylicious! There's chocolates, jellybeans, ice creams, soda pop, sweets and every possible candy you can think of.

Ok, the food was not fantastic. You pay for the Hard Rock experience. The price was a tad too expensive (well, all restaurants at RSS are except BAITS). The food? All covered in BBQ sauce and nothing special really!

Then after, we went to shop at Candylicious.

Took a picture and was politely told by the staff that no phototaking was allowed in the shop.

Went to watch some Mid-autumn festival performance at the forum.

Ah pehs loved them!
Then it was time to head back to the room for a night's rest!
