We went to Lantau Island where we not only took the cable car to Ngong Ping Village but also booked a tour to Tai O Fishing Village.
Check out the pictures...
Started off by heading to Citygate Outlets for breakfast...
mum who is not afraid of cold
she was nervous...
foggy and cold
Reached and we thought we would be late for our tour so we literally ran to the meeting venue!

The tourguide was a blur sotong. He did a head count before the bus left and thought there were 10 people in the bus when it was supposed to be 9. It was only when we reached Tai O then he counted again and was shocked to see only 9 people in his bus. Reason for his mistake? He counted a bag as a person. Stupid loh! Ended up one person missed the tour.
Pretty mum
At Tai O
So many seafod products.
Brought us to a museum that exhibited stuff that were used in the past which were not really relevant to the Fishing Village
Tai O island which looks like the face of a horse
dried oysters
fish maws of different grades and sizes
fresh seafood
The village is pretty small and its residents are mainly old people. It feels a bit like our kampong where they will keep their doors open for any one to pop by for a mahjong game.
Pictures with the stilt houses
Super windy
Shark fins and puffer fish
Alien fish maws
A shark
Then, we were on our own to explore the village
While waiting for the bus, my back was in pain due to several days of walking... I was holding on to tea eggs and a dried starfish that I bought for 30 cents which I can use to show my students in the future.
Back at Ngong Ping
Stray dogs that curled up to sleep in this weather
At the buddhist temple
We had vegetarian food for lunch. Here are what we had.
Best beancurd I ever had! very fragrant and sweet. I think the syrup was cooked with some ginger or what and this made the beancurd very tasty.
Dim sum and kuehs
Braised soy products in curry, cinamon and normal soya sauce
Fried beehoon
We went back to Citygate for shopping and Des treated us to dinner which was pretty satisfying.
Ma Po Tofu
Sweet and sour pork
Gong Po Chicken which doesn't look like it
Lastly, french beans with minced meat.
So, that marked the end of Day 5.
