Shanghai Day 1:
After reaching Shanghai. we went straight to take the Maglev train.
Maglev train that used the theory of magnetic field instead of rails. Super cool and can go as fast as 430km within 7seconds. The fastest in the world. This brought us to the station near city centre.
While waiting for our bus
The famous Nan Pu Da Qiao (Nan Pu Bridge). The highways in Shanghai are really high! They can go up to 6 or even more storeys just so that they can save space. But a bit scary when u look down. And their bridges are winding ones! The tour guide shared with us alot about the bridge and how Deng Xiao Ping wrote the bridge name differently.
We reach Sheng Hong Temple Street (one of their famous shopping street).
After the shopping, we went straight to our hotel. We were no longer in the city centre, but instead brought to this place called Zhou Zhuan. It is like a water village. So the place is going to be quite ulu. The reason why it's called water village is because teh people there survives alot on water. There is abundance water in Jiangnan (the name given to group all cities below the Yangtze Rive) and so hence called water village. On our way to Zhou Zhuan, we can see alot of canals, small rivers, ponds and the irrigation system for their farms are quite good.
After taking a short break and shower, we went to visit the old houses or buildings of the ancient times. Where rich people stayed and where you can get to experience the scenic views of a water village. Oh, and we have pig trotters too! My nose was running real bad at this point of time. couldn't get used to the sudden change in temperature. But i was ok after day 2.
I love pork so much and their pork got no smell one! Yay!
Btw, it may look like it's night time but it's actually 5 plus only. We had our lunch all ard 12pm and dinner at 5pm. Very early rite? cos the day ends early. Then afetr dinner, we went for a short 30 min boat ride where an uncle rolled the boat and sang some chinese tunes for us. so cold yet so nostalgic! Love the ambience.. stay tune for day 2!
